I saved them. I do believe that the mind is naturally curious and that it takes a lot to go against that tendency. choosing denial requires a lot of energy from the brain, further insuring blindness.

Then you have true creative genius. I’m afraid they are not teaching imagination in school, either . . . . . .

Now for the paradox. Some families fracture over time. Some neighborhoods do, too. Some cities die. In face, many are dying right now and some might be as good as dead as we speak. Even nations and empire have fallen, some to remain dead forever while others slowly revive over a number of decades. The scary thing is, that there is not guarantee that a fallen nation or empire will revive or do within a century. I point to the example of the waring states of the Greater Mediterranean sea area in the bronze age.

then something happened that no one foresaw or thought possible. various armies roamed to feed off those not yet affected by drought or being conquered already. I mushroomed into a vast conflagration of all the inhabitants of that greater area that had once been a prosperous and mutually beneficial trading. Tragic result was that they whole of that area plunged into a total breakdown that likely killed all but a few , who then had to recover, with only primitive means left to them. With so few, most arts and skills were lost and did not return for 400 years. A long slow gradual progress. that means that most nations lost national ID and most of their populations, a massive die-off.
The picture you paint, strongly suggest another such event to follow shortly. Why, because we did not love and value truth, logic, reason, fairness, equity, objectivity, benevolence and good will. Even the greatest and most prosperous nation can not survive without these.

but people have become too stupid and short-sighted. Hence, there is no way to avoid it!
E tu Brute? then fall USA . . . and the rest of the world, too. It is our destiny.

The media prints a story, and basically, in the way it is presented, tells us how we should feel about that story. Without doing any independent inquiry, people feel free to pile on, express their uneducated opinions, and even go on the attack with name calling, etc.

It’s a lynch mob mentality. We used to be cautioned against that, but now it is taught and encouraged.
